Moodboard: a walnut Shaker door, a taupe painted door, hammered glass, travertine samples and a rush seat, with wooden boards, apples and stoneware.

Dark wood, pale stone

A L-shaped kitchen built around the window onto the garden, with a waterfall island in the middle for cooking, eating and homework. Black walnut Shaker cabinets sit low, and taupe painted cupboards with hammered glass rise to the ceiling.

Travertine runs across the worktops and down the sides of the island, and its pale, soft veining is picked up by the plaster walls. Black pulls, a rush-seated stool and a cluster of bell pendants add the darker notes.

A short film of the finished kitchen, through a morning of cooking around the island.

Axonometric

The cabinets are built to measure along both runs of the U: walnut drawers below for pans and plates, and tall taupe cupboards above, glazed where the glassware is kept.

Every drawer runs on full-extension soft-close runners, so the back of each one comes fully into reach. Try it below.
